The tractor Run

The tractor run started many years ago with a small group of friends gathered in a shed eating stew and drinking coffee to keep warm. We stood watching a couple of vintage tractors and stationary engines popping away when the idea of a tractor road run was born.

Ideas for the run, route changes and upcoming events are battered around the room and the run and route takes shape.

The main aim of the run is to raise money to donate to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

for 2021 we had a brilliant turn out with friends, family and volunteers all coming together to make this a memorable part of the Somerford and Dauntsey District Show calendar.

We had a brilliant turn out this year, under challenging Covid conditions. It was great to see so many people taking part and supporting, despite the rules and regulations we had in place to keep everyone safe. With only a few showers around and a couple of breakdowns, we had a great day all round. Hopefully next year we can return to a more traditional format, but I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and supported the run this year. It meant we carried on the important job of raising over £1800 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and of course having some fun!

All proceeds will be donated to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, they are the sole beneficiary of the run.
